History of the balloons festival in Krosno

Mountain Balloon Competition is a cyclical outdoor event organized in Krosno since 2001. It takes place during the May long weekend and attracts crowds of fans of ballooning and outdoor recreation. The Krosno GZB consists of two parts: sports competitions and the "Balloons over Krosnem" event. During the May weekend, the entire Krosno "lives" with balloons, and the city services are heavily involved in them.

he loom competition has been organized for over 20 years and has a high sports rank. They gather the best players from Central Europe. The level of competition and sports "difficulty" is high. The competition is held in difficult, very demanding mountain terrain with strong winds.

The May Balloon Weekend in Krosno attracts thousands of fans from all over the country to the city. The City of Glass becomes the capital of ballooning. The native inhabitants are not surprised that visitors stop at unexpected moments and film and take photos of the aircraft flying majestically over the area.
